We took Hudson up to Teton Village to go skiing. He did pretty good. I was surprised at how much fun he had. We will be doing this more often next year, I hope.

I can't believe I am such a horrible blogger! It really hasn't been that long since I posted, I think. I guess it's the effects of pregnancy or the fact I can't find my cord for my camera. Either one should work.

Hudson helped Rollin and Tami feed the horses the other afternoon on their sleigh, Hudson loved it. I have a picture of that, but I can't find the cord! Hudson says he is ready for school and loves to read books. He likes to share with everyone...but Claire and he will let you know it. He is very excited to be a brother and is determined he is having a brother. This we still don't know because the baby is shy and would not let us see.

Cory is taking two classes and working. He has been hauling junk and getting paid, weird hobbies men find.

I just received the Little Red Riding Hood flier in the mail. Unfortunately I will not be participating in that event this year. For those that are uninformed it is an all women's bike ride and participated in last year. I tried to talk Cory into letting me do the 15 mile ride. I am sure I could do it, but I bet by June 1st I will not be able to put my shoes on or bend over to reach my handle bars. School is going well. The Lord will only put us through what we can handle!

Todd I finally updated our blog...sorry. For those that don't know I finished another 100 mile bike ride. It took 7 hours. I know a little longer than last time. Mile 65-Mile 85 was a constant incline, so I kind of sucked it up. But it was a great ride and I am looking forward to more rides. I have had quite a few people ask me about LOTOJA. I am planning on doing it next year, Jesse knows she is already one of the support cars for our relay team! Jess-I think you should do it too.
School is going well. We had our first volleyball games last Saturday. The 7th grade won and the 8th grade lost. We saw some good things happening.
Hudson is a maniac. He is talking so well. He uses complete sentences. I am pretty sure he is the smartest 2 year old anyone will ever know!
Cory left to go hunting, it's opening day tomorrow for deer. We are planning a trip to Lake Powell next month for one last great shindig on the jet skiis. We are excited! Pictures will come later, it just takes a long time on my MAC.

While I was in Minnesota, Hudson figured he would start wearing a backpack to daycare. Needless to say I had to get one and here it is. He also has to have sunglasses like Mommy and Daddy. This is the cutest kid!

Minnesota Travels

Yes it has been awhile. I went to Minnesota for the PAWS-Alt Rangefinding Committee. If you don't know what that is, call me and we will have a two hour chat about what I do and what it is. Anyway, the Mall of America is in Minneapolis, as well as the Minnesota Twins and we also went to the St. Croix river. Here is one of the pictures. I forgot my camera so I took pictures with my phone.

The Twins won 12-0. The game was so cool. I am ready to go again!

Hudson and I make smoothies almost every day when we get home and I turned around one day and found him drinking straight out of the blender. I had to take a picture of this.

Hudson also loves butter. He literally got out of his seat and went to the other side of the table and grabs a spoon! It is so funny I don't think I could stop him.

Knee injury

On Cory's birthday I was playing Outlaw Volleyball and I hyper-extended my knee. Turns out

I partially tore my MCL and bruised my tibia bone super bad. When they took x-rays that night they said there was a part of my bone missing. I now have started physical therapy. I am planning on racing on my road bike come April and so on. There is a ride when the Park opens in April that I plan on riding in. I will keep you posted!

The train lover

Hudson loves trains. This train is at Gramma Lynda's. Hudson played with it with his cousins, Tate and Reagan and his Uncle Clint. Any train he sees he says choo-choo, truly there is not cuter kid. I wish there were sound on this video, because Hudson was screeching! He truly was having the best time with this train. I think we know what he needs next.

The Rodeo

We had so much fun with Candice and KC in Las Vegas. We met a couple of celebrities, like the Chief from Grey's Anatomy, and saw Tuff Hedeman. We were backstage the last night and met a couple of the contestants and their family members. KC met up with a couple of his major sponsors, Montana Silversmiths and Bloomer Trailers. They seem to get some great first class treatment! The bull ride was the best one that night we watched. Cory had never been to the NFR, but I think the the last night we were there, Saturday was the best rodeo we saw. We saw a couple different singers, one that sings "Chicken-Fried (country-fried)" which we had to come home and buy because Cory absolutely loved it. We had an awesome time, but missed Hudson like crazy. He had fun with Gramma Lynda riding the Polar Express with his cousins, Tate and Reagan. We stayed at the Stratosphere, went to the couple different Cowboy Christmas', went bowling and ate some great food. By the way after 11 or 12 bowling was only a dollar and we had to stay and play 4-5 rounds so that I could score more than a 100. KC had to bow out the last game, but I ended up getting the best score out of every one! We plan on this type of trip happening again, we had a super time.

Fashion Show

While Cory and I were in Las Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo I was invited to a fashion show with Candice. We sat with a couple of Harlequin romance novelists. We were given a bag with a Wrangler shirt, a romance novel (signed by the author of course, who sat right next to me), a whiskey glass, and some other brochures. I don't think I have seen so much glitz and glamour associated with cowboys! It was a great experience.

Lights on Temple Square

Hudson really enjoyed the light on Temple Square. He wanted to talk to every single stroller we walked by. He is really into babies. No we are not pregnant that is not what this post is implying. He is just really cute! We also went to Gardner's Country Village near Salt Lake. That was a lot of fun to see.

Cowboy Hudson

We tried to keep this cowboy hat on Hudson, but he did not want to keep it on. He did really well on our trip to my parent's house last weekend. He watched part of Madagascar 2, hten ate lots of chinese food afterwards.

This weekend he helped watch his cousin, Claire, which he absolutely loved! He enoys giving kisses and helping out.

He insists on taking a bath every night and will kindly remind you about this.

Halloween

Hudson was not really impressed with his costume, he did not want to be a spider. His hat was too small so we propped it on his head for the pictures. Cory was forced to be a cow again and I opted for the vampire look (the Twilight series has sucked me in-if you don't know what that is, then you should get on the literature boat!:)) Cory was one of the only Dad's dressed up.

Hudson tried to pull a chair over to the counter and help me make cinnamon rolls. He stood on the chair for quite a while. He dropped a fork in the bowl so I decided a long wooden spoon would be best. He gets mad at me if I don't sit him on the counter or get a chair to let him help me cook. He wants to help any way he can, but he really seems to enjoy stirring.

ON our way back from Salt Lake one weekend we bought some popcorn. Hudson really enjoyed eating popcorn and then later feeding it to Mommy.

He can enjoy parts of a dvd during a long trip as well. Books are still his favorite thing to look at while traveling or at home.

Hudson was all dressed up for church and couldn't look any better! He knows where to find his socks and shoes. He may even bring you his shoes when he is ready to go somewhere. When that doesn't work he'll bring you your shoes!

Hudson is pretty adament at this point that he eats at the table. After he had eaten quite a bit one evening he climbed up on the bench and ate out of the pan. He enjoys having many choices for meals and snacks!

Hudson loves babies. He really enjoys helping out. Erica put Claire on the couch and he got up on the couch and thought he should pick her up so we helped him so that he could hold Claire. He only wanted to hold her for a couple seconds and he pushed her away after he was done.

Hudson doesn't really enjoy his hat and certainely not his gloves. The hat at least stays on his head, but gloves are a joke. Hudson enjoys tractors and being outdoors.

The Baker Boy

Hudson is really interested in what is happening when Mommy cooks. He decided he would make his own concoction. Hudson is geting more teeth in, talking like a mad man and tearing the house up. Cory is hunting right now with his brother, Clint and his cousin, Danny.

I am staying busy with school and volleyball. For those interested I did purchase a road bike. It is a SPECIALIZED Sequoia. I was planning on getting the Allez, but the Sequoia fit better. I have only had a chance to go on a small few rides, but it will get it's miles clocked in soon. More to come on the cycling extravaganza.

The Best 70 Miles of My Life

Last Saturday I attended CASVAR. This was a benefit for Dr. Bennett's family. I had originally only thought of riding the 20 or 40 miler. I have been "training" pretty much all summer. I started out riding with the guys from the valley and they were moving really fast. I couldn't keep up with the pack and broke off. They were going up the south end anyways and I am almost sure I am not ready for that yet. They were trying to talk me into the 100 miler, I will be ready for those next year, but for now I will stay with what I feel comfortable with.
I was riding past a pair of two older ladies and asked how far they were going. They said well we think we will go on the 70 miler. I thought well I am young and probably in better shape anyways so I rode the full 70 miles. The rest stops had great people who were helpful and great encouragement. I had Cory meet me back at Canyon View Park and we had a great dutch oven cook out. I am hooked on cycling...it's addicting!
School is underway as is coaching volleyball. Hudson is back at his in home daycare and loves Natalie. Tip out there to working Mom's or those to be-find a daycare that is in home that will do exactly what you would do or more and this will save your life;) seriously. Cory started his online class today and is enjoying his job. He is running into struggles, but likes the challenge.

The Grey's River, Derby and Water Week

It has been awhile since the last blog I know. I attended a Special Education Leadership Symposium. My wonderful Mom met me there and took care of Hudson while I attended classes. When we got back I moved our things from one bag to another. I ran a 5K on Saturday, no there are no pictures because a lot of people passed me, but I did it and will know to train more. I thought I could not run because of my knee, but I did a couple times and thought what the heck...I'll run a 5K down Swift Creek.
Off we went for a couple days to Grey's River. On Monday we went for a hike with Anne and Megan. I did make a bad choice and wore my running shoes instead of hiking boots, I even have the blisters to prove it. Tuesday we hiked up Barstow and Wednesday Cory and the brothers went and got wood. It was a great trip and we loved seeing our family.
It is official Cory won another derby as you can see from the pictures! Casey placed second and won in the compact division (there were only two cars!). Hudson really enjoyed the trophies. Clint did really well, he didn't place, but he is really excited to drive next year. We do have a DVD already made of this if anyone is interested in watching the crazy night!

A weekend up Grey's River

We went up Grey's River this last Friday. We got a load of wood while Hudson slept in his pack 'n play. Cory works like a maniac! The dogs ran up and down this rock slide all morning. Baylee now can barely move because she ran so much she tore up the pads of her paws. We sold the wood that afternoon and enjoyed the rest of the evening relaxing.

Greg and Erica had a baby!

On July 10th Erica and Greg had Claire Larie. She was 7 pounds 14 ounces and 19 inches long. Erica had a great delivery and everyone went home the next day.

Second place

While we were in Rexburn Cory had a derby and won 2nd! He states it was pure luck, but I think multiple years of experience might have something to do with it.

4th of July

R.J. and Marci came and visited us before the 4th and then we had a family gathering at Bear Lake. The weather was great, the water was amazing and we had an awesome time. We barbecued on the shore and Hudson ate sand!

The Unfortunate Travels

I'm sure many of you know while in Salt Lake for the family reunion our car (the subaru) decided it would die. We found a motor two weeks later and it is now running again. Here's the kicker...on the way home towing the car on a u-haul trailer the trailer got a flat outside of Cokeville. Luckily our good friend Russell Gardner just happened to see us. We came back the next day with our truck and trailer to pick up the subaru. We didn't take pictures because that's a memory we don't want to have!

The Lehman Luau

The third weekend in June we had a great family reunion with the Lehmans. We had a luau on Friday night. Nick and Jen brought a fun toy for all the kids to play on-the airplane! Then we met up at Cherry Hills on Saturday for a day of sun, fun, water and miniature golf.

Flower (Flour) boy?

Hudson seems to have found a great new past time...the flour bin! I found him Sunday afternoon with white stuff all over him. I watched a couple minutes longer and found him with his hand in the flour bin! Needless to say to save the kitchen and his drool mixing with the flour to make flour paste on the floor I have to keep the lids locked up now. I found Cory's alarm clock in the flour bin one day, then the next day I found a pen lid.

Erica's baby shower

I threw my sister, Erica a baby shower the first weekend in June. This is a picture of the cake. It is a chocolate cake with an apricot filling and a white buttercream frosting. Erica received many gifts for the baby girl due in June.

The Lake Powell Trip

We got our basement cleaned up and off we went to Lake Powell. We stayed the first night on the house boat at the dock. We then moved our house boat, speed boat and (personally owned) jet skiis out Sunday morning. We docked that afternoon and took out the speed boat and the jet skiis. We rode on the tube and had a great sunny afternoon. For the next couple of days we played in the water, moved the house boat a couple of times, fished and soaked up some wonderful sun! What a great trip! More pictures to come.

The night before vacation!

The night before we left for Lake Powell we had a septic problem! Needless to say we have a wonderful neighbor who at midnight came to our rescue. Little did we know that it didn't fix the problem. We got 4 hours of sleep. We had to wait for the "roto rooter" fellow to come at 2:00 the next day. I vacuumed up . . . well you know what I vacuumed up! Then we ripped up carpet and turned on the fans. We have yet to find out if the insurance will cover the carpet, but either way the carpet must be replaced. This story will be continued...

Graduation

We attended Lindsey's graduation in Wright. Hudson did amazing while we traveled. It was a long trip, but worth it to see the family. Lindsey was crying and she picked Ryker up, then Ryker started crying! It was a great graduation.

There's still snow in Afton?

Here we are into April and the snow is still coming!

Hudson is keeping us on our toes. He can scale the walls and make his way into almost any room in a moment's notice. Spring break was wonderful. We had a great time. Hudson is quite the swimmer. He scooted off of the slide at the Wright rec center. He played in the water with his cousins at the Laramie rec center.

I can't believe it, but Hudson will be one on Wednesday. He's so big. We are going to have his birthday party that day. He now has 8 teeth and there are definite signs of more trying to burst through those hurting gums.

I am getting ready for summer school and upcoming students. Cory is loving life as the MANNY! We are getting ready for our trip to Lake Powell. We are now the proud owners of two jet skis. If you play your cards right you may get to ride them with us.

Hudson Hornet

Hudson is growing like crazy! We bought him some Hudson Hornet swimming trunks.

He is nearly walking as you can see. He's starting to get the bumps and bruises from bravery!

This kid has a sweet tooth like his Mommy! He ate nearly an entire cupcake.

Sometimes Hudson will want to pick something up from the floor, but get stuck because he is not quite sure how to get back up. We as his parents had to take advantage of this opportunity to share with the rest of the family.

Eye Surgery

Cory had LASIK eye surgery in March. I took a day off and we went to Idaho Falls. The surgery went really well. They let me watch it in a different room on a t.v. screen. He is healing well and can see 20/20. Here is the evening after surgery picture. He had to have eye drops every couple of hours administered, then tape eye shield, and the cool glasses he wore for a couple days.

The week of sick!

Here is Hudson. Even though we were all sick, we will make it and Hudson will keep smiling and being handsome! Hudson had tonsilitis, Cory had a sinus infection and I had a serious sore throat. Tomorrow we leave for Idaho Falls for Cory to get lasik eye surgery! No more glasses. More to come later...who knows maybe we will have a video of the surgery.

A Hot Friday night

After a short week of school, I am ready for the weekend. There is a lot going on at school and it is a huge relief to know Cory has Hudson some of the time. It is supposed to be bad weather this weekend.

I am playing city league volleyball. Since joining up with my team last month we have won every game until the other night. We lost one game. Playing makes me realize my body is not as young as it used to be.

Hudson is so close to crawling. It's not even funny! He has some great fangs right now. His top teeth are fangs and he has his two bottom teeth. Hudson is really enjoying "big people" food lately.
